Vehicle Fleet
Management Tracking
Companies use fleet management
tracking software and technology to keep track
of company vehicles.
Companies use fleet management tracking software
and technology to keep track of company
vehicles. For example, a construction company
might install a GPS fleet-tracking system in
their trucks to allow the supervisor to know
where any truck is located at a given time.
Since not everyone is honest, having fleet
management tracking devices installed in the
vehicles will reveal when an employee is not
doing what he’s supposed to be doing—as well as
which employees are doing their jobs. When
employees slack off and don’t use the company
vehicle for work, they can cost the company a
lot of money. After installing vehicle tracking
devices in their vehicles, many companies see a
drop in gasoline costs within the first month.
Construction workers interviewed stated that
vehicle tracking devices work; it helps keep
them from being tempted to do things they know
they shouldn’t. Supervisors appreciate not
having to second guess employees and constantly
watch over their shoulders. Just having these
devices on the vehicles is enough of a deterrent
for most employees and encourages them to be on
their best behavior.
Today many companies are installing fleet
management tracking devices in their trucks and
other vehicles as a convenient way to keep an
eye on where each vehicle is located.
Sophisticated systems can even relay speed and
other information.
