Traveling Tips for Good Mileage

There are some simple tips you can follow to prevent excessive driving and better mileage during your work day.

Combining errands saves your company time and money. Several short trips on a cold start use twice as much fuel as one trip covering the same distance with a warm engine. Plan each trip to accomplish as much as possible with an efficient, warmed-up engine. With good planning, you can also avoid driving around in circles and retracing your route. You’ll save wear and tear on your vehicle as well as gas.

A loaded roof rack will decrease gas mileage by 5 percent. Put items in your trunk whenever possible to reduce drag and improve mileage.
